Hey everyone, Dusty from the Dust Jacket here coming at you with another new segment I call ‘The Pigeon Hole’. This segment can be likened to the work of other bloggers, such as the Story Siren’s ‘In My Mailbox’ posts; here I’ll be talking about all the amazing books that I have for review. This is most likely going to be a monthly segment rather than weekly, as I am not one of the lucky few who get new books every week. So sit back, grab your notebook and list any of the amazing books I have bought should they not already be sitting in your collections!
The Blue Bloods series is already quite popular, brought in with the vampire craze that followed Twilight. I am frankly ashamed that this was not already sitting on my bookshelf, but I’m finally catching up with my vampire literature after a brief hiatus from the blood-sucking beasts.
Blue Bloods is the first book in the series, telling the story of a young girl who discovers that she is a Blue Blood, a group of beautiful, dangerous vampire elite and is soon fighting a killer who is preying on the Blue Bloods, in order to save herself and her kind.
This sounds like a fantastic read and from some of the reviews I’ve read, I am not going to find my expectations falling short; hopefully vampires at their best.
The London Eye Mystery is about a boy who goes for a trip on the London Eye but never comes back down. His cousins, our protagonists, turn sleuth in order to track down their cousin and rescue him from any danger.
This book sounds a bit different; one of the reasons I chose it. I tend to stick to YA romances, but with a great hook, this book has bags of potential along with a feeling that I could really get sucked into the story. Well, time will tell if my predictions are true.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Mark Haddon
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is about an autistic boy who discovers the corpse of his next door neighbours’ and is determined to track down the killer and write a murder mystery.
How could I resist indeed? Truth is, I’m almost unable to resist any book but that’s another matter. This sounds right up my street, a perfect way to round off a day’s book haul.
Well, that’s all I have for you this month my people; although this post is going to be monthly, if I get the odd book here and there, I shall make an exception. With a growing ‘To Be Read’ pile, I must bid you goodbye, hoping that all you Dust Jacket’s out there pick up that book and feed your imaginations; with a heavy heart, that is all from me; bye!
