The Wish List #1

Hey everyone, this is Dusty here from the Dust Jacket hitting you with a new weekly segment I call The Wish List. In it I shall discuss both released and unreleased novels that are at the top of my ‘To Be Bought’ list, something I know a lot of other bloggers do. I hope that you enjoy.

Fear – Michael Grant
I want this book so badly…I mean really, really badly. I’d sell my soul to get my hands on this book. Michael Grant is one of my favourite young adult authors, and I found the previous four books in the series simply addictive. I’ve wanted Fear since I closed Plague on completing it.

I’m a little sad in a way; Fear is the fifth book in the Gone series…fifth out of six. That means the series is almost over! I honestly don’t know what I’ll do when this series comes to a close. There will be tears, tantrums and rereads; those are all promises.

So, with such an exciting finale to Plague, what Gone fan isn’t counting the days until the release Fear, previously named Darkness for the un-updated? Are you looking forward to Fear?

Dear Bully – Anthology

I’m sure that this is an anthology that is going to break my heart but, as I, like most, have been bullied, so it sounds like both a saddening but entertaining read. With seventy of our favourite names in young adult literature, this is sure to be an anthology I cannot afford to miss.

Dear Bully is an anthology edited by Megan Kelley Hall and Carrie Jones, jam – packed with tear jerking tales of bullying and persecution. Bullying affects us all, and I suppose this volume could help victims in reaching out and receiving assistance.

It’s sure to be emotional, but how can I resist the likes of Ellen Hopkins, Lisa McMann and R.L Stine? In all honesty, I can’t, so hopefully it won’t be too long before this beauty is sat on my bookshelf. Will you be buying Dear Bully?

Perfect – Ellen Hopkins
My review of Impulse will be up this week, and that will show you just how much I love Ellen Hopkins and how much I desperately want this fat, juicy number. Perfect is the long awaited sequel to Impulse and I am frankly enraged that I placed a hardcover ban on myself.

How can one deny themselves the scintillating verses of the great Ellen Hopkins; in short, they can’t and those of you who are yet to pick up an Ellen Hopkins haven’t lived quite to the full because these books are extraordinary, packed with raw emotion and relatable characters.

Sadly, I am denying myself the chance to purchase this gorgeous book until it comes out in paperback, so to those of you who already have it in your possession, I envy you. Will your life be made perfect by Perfect?

Okay guys, that’s it for this week; I hope you’ve enjoyed this segment; as I said it shall be weekly and hopefully will suggest some great new reads for you, though it is more likely your comments that will be helping me. For all you Dust Jackets out there, I bid you goodbye.

- Fear by Michael Grant will be released on April 3rd 2012 from HarperCollins.

- Dear Bully was made available on September 1st 2011 from HarperTeen.

- Ellen Hopkins’s Perfect was released by Simon & Schuster on September 13th 2011.
